Reviews

  • Black Tea

…the first perfume I tried was Black Tea and the moment I sprayed it I knew I had to try everything you have to offer. It is warm, enveloping and comforts me during cold days, I like to use it when I need a boost or simply when I need to feel better. - Josette

    Dark Meadow

The path through the dark meadows. Can't see their hands in front of their eyes. Are alone in the dark. Somewhere out there. There is only the rustling of the wide meadows as we leave the woods. The sound of our footsteps in the harsh grasses, the swirling leaves on the wild herbs, the bitter scent of night-cool clay, the crackling of the clammy thousand-rooted trees, their moisture in the leather soles, long since worn and worn out. Come on, let's go further. In the distance there is aromatic hay in the fields and honeydew on the sleeping flowers. Morning is already lurking on the horizon. Kamila Aubre produces all her vegan, 100% natural fragrances sustainably and in very small or limited editions. "Dark Meadow" actually combines a wide range of scents that we associate with meadows, as if the scent molecules were swirling over nocturnal grasslands that you roam through. The spicy-tart, earthy-herbaceous-bitter notes of angelica root are present right from the start and are first combined with herbaceous-fresh, slightly woody lavender. Ginger brightens things up a little. Soon there is the scent of foliage and freshly cut grass (violet leaf) on slightly musty, earthy patchouli, in which floral, leathery nuances also shimmer. In the very complex yet transparent fragrance, spicy hay aromas (coumarin) and delicate drops of honeydew (labdanum) on delicate herbal flowers (camomile) are increasingly perceptible towards the end. The path through the meadows at night, which lasts several hours, is rather quiet overall. - Flloyd (automatically translated from Parfumo.com)

Thank you so much, Kamila. My perfumes arrived safely today and they are both beautiful. Additionally, I love both of the samples - Dark Meadow is absolutely sublime, even my partner (who has no nose for botanical scents at all and usually doesn’t care much for perfume) keeps sniffing my wrist and neck. I would also like to say how much I enjoy and appreciate your careful and considered creations, especially the beautiful flacons which make perfume application a mindful and elegant exercise. I feel now that I cannot return to generic perfume hall offerings, as they are too overwhelming and similarly synthetic, and your creations feel so much more unique and thoughtfully executed in comparison. I love to read the inspirations behind each scent. - Emilia

    Dutch Iris

Dutch Iris is dry-powdery with the typical butteriness of orris root. It has a warming, edible spiciness alongside musty tones of earth and roots. It is softspoken, yet impactful and quite unusual. - Naama

    Ella&Lil

Beautiful natural scents with a twist. The shipping was fast an the packaging perfect. I will order again after testing my samples :). - Jana

Absolutely divine, it is narrative in scent, an absolute pleasure to apply and wear. It is somehow magically both exactly what I imagined, and like nothing I have ever encountered before. Please never stop making this. - Harriet

Beautiful, warm, slightly spicy fragrance, reminds me of late nights in a jazz club. - Emma

Fascinating perfume. I love jazz, I have been looking for jazz perfume for a long time. Being vegetarian, I was excited to have a full bottle of a plant based fragrance. Thank you! - Penelope

    Frances with a Flower

Frances with a Flower is a beautiful fragrance, a delicate rose with ambery depths. I adore the rich burgundy colour of the liquid. I apply this on top of Parfum d'Esthetique for an intoxicating rose scent. As to be expected from Kamila Aubre, the presentation is simple, classic and elegant, and delivery prompt in spite of selecting the 'no rush' option at check out. Thank you so much. - Emilia

As always perfect! Started fall season with this scent (Frances with a Flower) and it suits the colder days. - Anna

Frances with a Flower is a warm and spicy amber liquor with a geranium nimbus that exudes vintage glamour. - Naama

Frances with a Flower. Both rich and sharp floral, very natural. - Carrie

I tried Frances with a Flower which is definitely more suitable for this season, it is so bright and happy that puts a smile on my face everytime I use it. My next purchase has to be Villanelle, having a soft spot for green fragrances I feel like I cannot miss out! - Josette

    Gloire de Dijon

Kamila Aubre's fragrances often remind me of fine tea blends of herbs, tea leaves and woods. I was attracted by the wondrous combination of porcini mushroom, various types of tea and vetiver with white rose, which promises a unique fragrance experience somewhere between tea ceremony and forest clearing. Here in Gloire de Dijon Eau de Parfum, the note is more restrained and cannot be considered in isolation at first, but it may be considered plausible. At first, the teen notes are in the foreground, mingling with iris and floral tones, and the longer the fragrance remains on the skin or the fragrance strip, the more vetiver can be identified: a bitter green note with almost hay-like tones. However, there is also a hint of a woody, earthy note that could possibly be associated with porcini mushrooms. However, the forest associations here are not to be understood in the sense of a rustic geosmin earth note, fir resins or leafy green, but rather of a dry, herbaceous and lovely nature, as if you were in a forest clearing where the last sunlight gathers just before dusk. Sounds cheesy? Maybe it is, but it's also romantically beautiful. The other fragrances from Kamila Aubre are also recommended for testing. - Andreas/Yatagan (Parfumo.com)

This is definitely the epitome of sensuality. I fell in love with the fragrance a few years ago and so happy it became my signature scent. It lasts for up to 5 hours on my skin but I also wear it on clothes as recommended and it stays there for days, like a thin layer. Thank you for this beauty. - Charlotte

Absolutely lovely perfume! It’s a very soft tea floral scent that feels like it’s wrapping all around you. Highly recommend this perfume! - Ana Maria

    Green Tea

[Green Tea] is a softspoken, dusky, dry leafy green scent.  It feels like getting lost in a myrtle hedge maze, of which a subtle screen of green ceremonial tea & frankincense steam arises. - Naama

    Mythopoeia

Intensely herbal, deeply blue, calming and serene, I instantly fell for it. Kamila Aubre is a house that should not be missed by lovers of natural perfumery. Thank you Kamila for the generous addition of two samples, Mytopeia II and Frances With a Flower in the current 2ml size! Both are beautiful and appealing to my nose. - Naama

Beautiful scents, I tried them all and am definitely buying each in a full bottle. - Lauren

Mythopoeia is my favourite, very unique and feminine. - Stacey

    Nameless Mist

It is always an adventure ordering and buying perfume from the description alone. I love the fragrance but equally the little sample you added in were spectacular. - Susane

    Objet de Vertu

Just great perfume. The smell is incredible and special. - Valeriya

    Paper Moon

This rose is deliciously fruity like raspberry. It then turns a bit green, smoky and leathery, smelling like a fruity-floral, sweet scented leather garment. - Naama

    Parfum d'Esthétique

A classic rose, full and natural with a note of herbal astringency that keeps it from cloying, as many rose perfumes tend to do... This layers marvelously with my other Kamila Aubre fragrances. I also admire how elegant these bottles look on my dressing table. - Emilia

I received a most decadent treasure in the mail! If I ever loved the original ‘Parfûm d’Esthetique’ - the most of all your creations, the new one with rose notes blows that one out of the water! It reminds me of standing next to my most fragrant hybrid rose bushes on a sultry summer day, where the fragrance lingers in the air. It delights my senses and reminds me of my beautiful gardens I had to leave behind when I was forced to move far away. I do hope you’ll consider it a permanent choice, or keep the recipe to make for me in future!! - Vivienne

I use the perfume on my lingerie during my beauty rituals. This is one of the most exquisite scent I’ve ever tried. From time to time I layer it with RedBird for a depth. - Amelia

What an incredibly fascinating journey to say the least. It makes me feel as if I’m walking through a beautiful botanical garden, freshly mulched with sumptuous cedar, and then getting a faint aroma here, and a strong one over there, as I walk past each section of flowers… - Vivienne

I am an aromatherapist and I was surprised how complex natural perfumes are. This perfume has changed my idea of perfumery: it is so soft and endlessly floral. - Catharina

I have cherished the sample for a long time. This scent to me represents timeless glamour. It feels like jazz, like the perfect shade of red lipstick, like a knowing wink when to an admiring face when entering a room. It could be like a costume, regardless of the exterior, the glamour is undeniable. - Valerie

    Priesse

This is Kamila Aubre's interpretation of ambergris using botanical ingredients only. It is impressive how much depth is created without animalic or synthetic musks. The perfume forms an enveloping warmth somewhere between ambery and leathery, which I find most suitable for cold weather situations, especially outdoors. I do think this is more a singular accord than a full-blown composition as it lacks a certain progression from top to base. There is a surprisingly spicy edge, which suppresses the softer floral and delicate powdery sides a bit. I wish the balance would tip the other way, personally. Other than that, it is a pleasure to wear Kamila's highly inspiring creations. - Kurai (Parfumo.com)

Priesse is worth a try like others of hers. Chocolate with a dirty touch and jasmine! Handsome. Unisex - Holscentbar (Parfumo.com)

This is pure art. I wear Priesse under other natural scents, both solid and liquid, it amplifies the fragrance and warm it up. One drop is enough, so one flacon will last very long - Caroline

Animalic perfume without the use of animal products! This sounded impossible until I tried a sample and switched to a full bottle later on. The perfume may seem a bit intense but as oils slowly evaporate, my skin smells salty and sweet… the balsamic notes are rich and deep. This is a unisex scent and the stopper is perfect for precise use. - Frank

    RedBird

- Naama

    Sachet de Senteurs

Just great perfume. The smell is incredible and special. - Valeriya

Sachet de Senteurs revealed me how much the "floral type of a fragrance lover" I am! - Flora

I am not really a fan of poetry but the perfume sounded too beautiful so I gave it a try and I was totally flabbergasted! Green and floral and very feminine! Also wanted to mark exceptional customer service and quick replies to my questions. Will certainly return for my next bottle or for a new release! - Olivia

This is 3rd time ordering the fragrance and each batch is a revelation for me. Natural perfumes are magical and I love how nature is reflected in the character of each scent. It is indeed a poetical perfume, a rare gem! - Hazel

A long lasting scent unlike many natural perfume brands. I apply it two times a day and the scent stays on my skin and clothes for hours! At the same time it does not bother other people around me, something I truly appreciate about natural perfumes! - Isla

    Sambacus

Impressive balsamic floral. Somehow Kamila's work clicks with me on levels I thought were impossible. Her "Immensité Bleue - Dark Meadow | Kamila Aubre" miraculously convinced me on the fougère genre, which I used to avoid at all cost. With Sambacus again she had me reconsider my stance. This time on the topic of balsamic notes. While labdanum is the first note to hit the nostrils, it is the immense galbanum note that follows to produce a deep ambery glow. Its usual dark shades are transformed into a shiny green hue by a single drop of lime juice. Surely this is one of the finest galbanum moments I have experienced in a while. Resinous, sappy, dark and sparkling. What follows is another moment of sheer joy. When the dark green amber transitions into a more balsamic floral, it feels like my whole body radiates. The jasmine of choice is delicious. Indoles are to be found in minimal dosage. The peru balsam and the tonka, not exactly among my favorite notes, do a lovely job giving off warmth and adding a slight creamy sensation to the florals. Even in the late drydown the afterglow of the top notes is present. The balsamic-floral approach is already lovely but that emerald green galbanum touch is just brilliant. To think that this is a 100% botanical perfume just blows my mind. - Kurai (Parfumo.com)

Sambacus is an elegant minty jasmine with an amber base that retains its freshness and takes us to a new place. - Fanny

What an unexpected blend of aromas! Indolic jasmine mingled with green, sharp minty tones, on top of honey-like, sticky sweetness. This is new, sexy and intoxicating. - Naama

Lovely smell!, I can't stop taking a whiff at my wrists !. I can not exaggerate this enough, but with each smell, there's a hint of different notes that just meshes well. - Angela

I think this is the most feminine scent in the line, it is so deep and rich but so elegant. It is amazing how all the ingredients create such an aura. I thought it would be more oriental but to my nose, it is very modern chic and I love wearing it in the evening as my daily ritual. Highly recommend! - Susanne

Another jasmine scent, I thought. But this one is not created using aroma chemicals or isolates. The scent is extended thanks to the base notes which are absolutely fantastic. Due to their complexity, it is hard to give one profile to natural scents, they do change with time and you can’t stop smelling your skin to make sure they are real. Jasmine at its best. Highly recommend! - Bianca

How could I possibly resist an olfactive interpretation of Jasmine as the center of a poetic universe, and in particular connected to Rumi? Especially when it's adorned with other choice florals, verdant galbanum (one of my favorite ingredients), and a divine base of tonka and labdanum... [Sambacus] sounds like a fragrance of heavenly balance between invigorating greenness, mellow floralcy, and dulcet-toned amber. - Despina Veneti

Sambacus. Incense and jasmine. A bit dirty. :) - Carrie

The lavish sensuality of Sambacus in Parfum strength is a wonderful companion during these winter days. - Naama

    Shell 1927

Shell 1927 presents an intriguing duality, I’d call it amphibious, being both a water creature with its salty sea-foam like notes, as well as an elegant, clean floral scent with some uncommon floral aspects. It mellows down to a precious, slightly sweet floral scent, always maintaining a salty tad. Shell 1927 is such a unique and artful perfume. It is soothing, calming, alleviating. Now that I have a full bottle I wear it nearly every morning, marveling at this beautiful, sweet foaming sea water. - Naama

Love these perfumes. It’s a short time I have met your beautiful creations but from that moment I am so fascinated from them! I've started with Orgeval garden and then with Shell 1927. Now I would happy to try Dark Meadow, because you told me you are particularly in love with this scent. I find this juices really suggestive and evocative, so far and different from anything  I smelled. The care in creating them and the quality of the raw materials are evident. I’m sure I will have all your collection!! - Simona

    Soliloquy

It lasted the whole day on me, dissipating slowly to my beloved mellow green tea notes... - Mirna

Soothing and comforting, these are the two words I have on my mind when I wear it. It wraps me around in its green scent and it stays on skin so long. - Gwendolyn

Virginia Woolf perfume, never thought such a genius could become scent, but Soliloquy did its best and I was not disappointed! It is indeed dry and earthy but also gives a sense of cosiness and warmth, like a friend being next to you. I wear it when I need to feel comfortable and relaxed. - Ellen

I opened my writing desk drawer where I kept your perfume with my journals and fountain pen and ink cartridges and a few small seashells with blue interiors from the Atlantic Ocean, and a memory of late July as I walked alone among the tall Queen Anne's lace and rose hips that grew wild along the rocky shore. Your perfume made walking alone and being a woman such a delicious experience. I was a new mother and didn't have much money, but the perfume samples I bought in 2019 made that summer so memorable. I recall a line from Virginia Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway: “she could not even get an echo of her old emotion.” Soliloquy is your perfume that I’d love to try. I feel this is the echo of the old emotion I so long for. - Ansel

    Sonnet 98

Such a bright fragrance, love the mix of herbs in the top notes, it is indeed unisex. - Karen

I usually stay away from herbaceous scents, unfortunately not all natural perfumes are equally quality. But Sonnet is a fabulous fragrance, not strong and very long lasting. The sillage is soft but will also suit men due to its woody character. I guess it will smell amazing on hot summer days. - Sadie

    Summer 1928

The package came in quickly, beautifully presented with delightful scents to explore. I’m not well versed in botanical perfumery, but Kamila’s work delights and surprises. I immediately had to purchase a flacon of Summer 1928. - Valerie

Fizzy, boozy, creamy blooms, ever so graceful... Summer 1928 is like chasing butterflies in a sun-drenched meadow. - Naama

    My favourite perfume! - Kate

Summer in a bottle, so bright and floral. - Sarah

Summer 1928 is such a soft fragrance, it dissipates slowly and I love that subtle scent left on my skin at the very end, it reminds me of warm June noons. - Greta

    Amazing scent. - Stephanie

Summer 1928. Lovely, fresh and dry. It’s like herbal ginger champagne. I used the sample all up in a few days - ravenously. :) - Carrie

    Thérapie de Fleur

    Tir a’Mhurain

The order arrived very quickly. I like new packaging. This is my first time trying Tir a'Mhurain, and I'm in love with the scent. It's a very unusual fragrance, dark, and complex. It won me over straight away. I have three favorite scents - Villanelle, Dark Meadow, and now Tir a'Mhurain. - Lena

A meditative walk by the sea: salty, algae-laden sea water swirling gently, paired with agrestic hay, all green. Kamila's expertise in aquatic accords is astonishing. - Dorabella (Parfumo.com)

Tir a’Mhurain is redolent of algae-rich, salty sea water contrasted by sweet hay. It is green, warm and comforting, agrestic and maritime at the same time. One of those perfumes which might take some time to win you over. - Naama
