What is Subtle Aromatherapy?

Subtle Aromatherapy (SA), also known as Vibrational or Psychoaromatherapy, is a holistic approach which uses synergistic formulas or single oils to heal your soul or psyche.
SA formulas can be successfully combined with psychotherapy, spiritual & psychic practices, reflexology, acupressure, yoga, breathwork, mindfulness & meditation, reiki, psychological self-analysis exercises, affirmation rituals, creative & intuitive practices, and many other activities or physical exercises involving self-study and/or mind-body connection, as well as help with the common basic mental health ailments such as stress, depression, insomnia, burnout, hormonal and emotional imbalance, etc. A combination of SA+Practice can can work as a more potent amalgam to restore and support your mind.

The products on this website are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Always seek advice from your doctor and/or naturopath if you have any medical concerns. Please consult your physician when pregnant or breastfeeding before using any essential oils or botanical fragrance. We recommend to use subtle aromatherapy as part of a holistic approach and combine it with other natural methods.

Directions:

  • apply 1-3 drops on your palms, cover your nose and breathe slowly in and out for a few seconds;

  • apply the scent on the body points/areas (lower part of abdomen, bosom, temples, etc.), gently massage; add a few drops of carrier oil for a longer ritual;

  • use the scent as body fragrance and apply on pulse points;

  • use the scent as hair fragrance, apply 1-2 drops on your palms and spread on your hair;

  • use in a diffuser (check your diffuser manual for information about perfume oils), on a diffusing stone as a room fragrance or in our Psyche Vessel for an intimate aura.

  • The Psyche Vessel reimagines aromatic phials and pomanders of the past as a modern ritual tool, using natural resins and subtle aromatherapy to create reflective, multi-sensory experiences. Blending old-world charm with a dark-edged aesthetic, it transforms spaces into atmospheres of introspection and connection.

    Add a few drops of the blend to the jar, which is filled with natural resins to enhance the diffusion of the scent, and open it to let the aroma linger, creating a calming atmosphere in your space. Place it in your bedroom, workspace, or any intimate area to enhance your environment with soothing, natural scents. After enjoying the fragrance, close the jar to preserve it for future use.

    The vessel comes with a bottle of your choice from Psyche Collection, mention the name at checkout in Notes. The vessel is reusable.

  • The complex warm and clear ambra scent, designed as a fine botanical fragrance, includes quintessential oils beneficial for your psyche: angelica root, chamomile, rock rose, cypress, frankincense, jasmine, immortelle, rose, etc.

  • Immortelle, German chamomile & wild carrot seed for an intimate self-care ritual.

    Use the botanical blend for daily breast care massage, as well as for monthly self-exam with about 1ml of carrier oil or on its own (1-3 drops). The best period for self-exam is right after the end of menstruation. Here are some of the essential steps to take for the exam: stand in front of a mirror, raise your arms, check your breast and armpit area with medium pressure for any abnormal changes (lumps, thickenings, knots).

  • Fragonia, white fir & lime for any kind of breathwork exercise.

    Use any meditative breathwork technique with subtle aromatherapy as a potent medium to help to relax your muscles, reduce tension & anxiety as well as improve respiratory functions of your body. Combine with yoga or practice on its own.

  • Ginger, ylang ylang & angelica root to reduce emotional exhaustion.

    One of the essential Psyche blends to have in your home apothecary at hand. Use the scent whenever you feel mentally overwhelmed and weary. Combine with the other blends for a more holistic approach, for example, Depression & Melancholy, Insomnia, Rest, as well as with more extended periods of physical rest to restore your balance.

  • Jasmine, rose, neroli for a visionary practice.

    A more modern approach to divination is its connection to psychology and these days some psychotherapists use, for example, Tarot cards as one of their methods. However close to heart you take clairvoyance practice, it can have its own positive impact on the psyche and mental health. You can use any technique and tools and scent can accompany you along the journey of self-discovery by enhancing your concentration, intuition, awakening and clarity of thought, as well as using the power of plants which have always been associated with psychic powers.

  • Sweet orange, copaiba & vetiver for an illuminative mind wandering practice.

    People spend half of their waking time by daydreaming, intentional daydreaming is more beneficial than spontaneous one as an exercise of positive rumination to organise your mind, enhance creative thinking, distract from reality for a short mental rest, reduce anxiety and stress, help in creative problem-solving processes, imagine social situations to better understand our role in relations as well as be part of a self- reflection activity. Add aromatherapy for a relaxing, calming and mesmerising ambiance.

  • Damask rose, Roman chamomile & geranium Bourbon for female psyche throughout life.

    A blend of traditional essential oils suitable for women at any stage of life* to support hormonal & emotional balance, as well as harmonise & embrace natural female cycles.

    *Do NOT use this formula during pregnancy/lactation and for girls under 12

  • Mandarin, neroli & sandalwood for solo & duo moments to explore your mind-body connection for tenderness, sensuality and (self) love.

    Conscious breathing, (self) massage in/around the most intimate areas and subtle aromatherapy are the essential tools to study your body, enhance your libido and sexual energy, nurture body-awareness, as well as fine tune yourself to the most delicate feminine sentiments.

  • Valerian, rock rose, and chamomile for a restful night.

    Combine the blend with other aromatherapy blends, such as rest, anxiety & stress, burnout & fatigue, and self-massage for a more relaxing evening and a calm night. Add other methods, such as tinctures and teas for a more holistic approach.

  • Sandalwood, juniper berry, and cypress for self-analysis & self-reflection practices.

    As an exercise, introspection can be beneficial for your mind in many ways: use it as part of your daily rumination to observe your thoughts and emotions and, perhaps, correct them by eliminating negative ones; as well as part of your self-discovery to know more about your personal identity and use it for further growth and self- exploration. Use the essential tools such as paper and a pencil to write down prompts and questions to yourself and botanical scent for self-awareness, direction and openness.

  • Yuzu, black pepper, and sweet marjoram for smooth contemplative somatic exercises and mind-body connection.

    The blend improves circulation, reduces muscle tension, supports respiratory and musculoskeletal systems. Use in body oils before before or during exercising to warm up the body or in combination with practice such as yoga or dance to improve performance.

  • Basil, melissa, and myrtle for meditative journaling.

    Journaling or intentional writing is a well-known exercise to unleash your creativity and unburden your mind. It is recommended to have a regular writing practice to support your writing skills and occasional one to organise your thoughts and clear your mind. Use random questions and prompts (created in advance) to talk to yourself about different common and uncommon topics, in particular those related to your impressions about people, events, objects, places, etc. Use botanical scent as a supplementary tool for intellectual concentration, expressiveness and inspiration.

  • Olibanum, sweet marjoram & lavender Vera for mental alleviation.

Although women experience menopause in different ways, the above feminine oils are gentle in any situation and will help with sleeplessness, fatigue, anxiety, hot flashes, etc.

  • Cardamom, rose, and black pepper for a lucid dream interpretation.

    Dreams seen at night are an accumulation of our past experience both physical and emotional. Some can be positive, some - obscure, mystical and even transcendental. Use dream interpretation as an exercise to enhance creativity, memory, self-analysis of emotions and thoughts with botanical scent as a regular tool for inner vision to stay attuned and concentrated for morning sessions. Avoid sessions after dark night dream experiences which cause discomfort, fear and other negative emotions.

  • Ylang ylang, rose, and copaiba for an ode to a new self.

    A gentle antidote to maternal melancholy and ennui, uses safe essential oils and techniques to transform the sense of inner fragility and imperfection into natural poise and balance, as well as to support your libido and female hormonal balance (mental & physical).

  • Grapefruit, Damask rose & rose geranium to harmonise and embrace your natural cycles.

    Almost half of women experience PMS in some form with physical and emotional reactions. Use in body oils to gently massage the upper abdomen, hips, lower spine and bosom.

  • Myrrh, frankincense, and cypress for spiritual and contemplative practices.

    The blend can be used as a body fragrance, in a diffuser (see your diffuser manual for details about using perfume oils or ask the manufacturer/supplier) or directly on any diffusing stone for an altar, for example.

  • Tangerine, manuka, and neroli make a safe harmonising blend which can be used during pregnancy*.

  • Sweet marjoram, blue hemlock, and lavender to unwind your mind and master the art of rest.

    Rest is one of the essentials our mind and body need and ignoring the simple necessity of a pause may negatively affect our psyche. Learn to find a few minutes a day away from busyness for repose. Whether you prefer to nap or simply have a few minutes alone in a quiet place, the relaxing blend will act as a mild sedative for smooth muscle and mind relaxation to help you restore your physical energy as well as emotional and mental well-being.

  • Ginger, yarrow & turmeric for an intimate conversation with your body.

    Combine botanical aromatics and self-massage as a complimentary therapy (use your fingers and hands) or along with other self-massage tools for reflexology, trigger point therapy or acupressure. Best applied as body oil to reduce stress & anxiety, relieve muscle pain and emotional tension as well as improve sleep quality.

  • Nutmeg, jasmine, and grapefruit for a warm creative sanctuary.

    What is your ‘sacred’ space? Whether you are an artist, craftsman, creator or an ordinary person who loves having a nook to contemplate, each of us has his own ‘altar’ where we keep books, notes, gifts and other objects which reflect our personality and help us create, design, make, write, think or simply have time of our own. Add botanical scent for a centring spatial experience for performance, focus and artistry.

  • Not only has the PMS Psyche added a wonderful new ritual to my selfcare, it smells wonderful. A citrusy rosy melange to help quell the flames of the looming moon. - Valerie
