What might it mean about the twenty-first century idea of self that we are so increasingly captivated by the villanelle? Based in communal dance rather than individual song, spiralling back repeatedly to the same refrains, often moving from obsession to acceptance through the simple movements of repetition, perhaps the villanelle teaches us something about sharing and returning, integrating, and learning to let go: good lessons for our time. - Annie Finch, Villanelles by Everyman's Library

The cure for anything is salt water: sweat, tears or the sea.
- Karen BlixenSalt and lavender are one of the most amazing accords in botanical perfumery: the brine is the azure depth and the floral absolute is the heart, there is an earthy warmth as expressed by pimento berry (reminiscent of vintage carnations), dark tea like chamomile, aged patchouli and marjoram are the green pillars of the fragrance. Inspired by the summer sea before a storm. The colour of the perfume comes from French lavender absolute and algae tincture.
Fragrance: velvety warm & salty floral.
Notes: pimento berry, algae, marjoram, chamomile, lavender, aged patchouli.

There are such a lot of things that have no place in summer and autumn and spring. Everything that’s a little shy and a little rum. Some kinds of night animals and people that don’t fit in with others and that nobody really believes in. They keep out of the way all the year. And then when everything’s quiet and white and the nights are long and most people are asleep - then they appear.
- Tove Jansson, Moominland Midwinter
Fragrance: aged creamy woods & black musky earth.
Notes: black pepper, white grapefruit, wintergreen, black spruce, juniper branch, silver fir, musk (cruelty free).
As a result of plant chemistry the scent may have a slightly milky consistency. We may leave the shimmering blend as it is to highlight its creamy nuance.
